Next US President, you’re invited to the UN climate meeting

350.org has set up a super-quick way to ask the next U.S. president to join the rest of the human race at the upcomPrespartyhatsing UN climate meetings. You can generate an email to both McCain and Obama in just about three seconds. What the heck, why not give it a try?

Then for good measure, maybe digg it.

You’ll be in good company. Partner organizations include David Suzuki Foundation, Greenpeace, Grist, Campus Progress, ClimateSolutions, avaaz.org, Global Youth Action Network, and lots more. As well as yours truly.

Oh, and what do they mean by "350?" (yeah, we didn’t know, either.) They’re talking about parts per million, as in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. 350ppm. "350 is the red line for human beings, the most important number on the planet. The most recent science tells us that unless we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to 350 parts per million, we will cause huge and irreversible damage to the earth."
